Fault Diagnosis of Belt Driving Power Transfer Facility Using Vibration Analysis

A electrical facility that delivers power to a belt, which is widely used in the industry, has high torque and efficiency. However, a breakdown of the facility not only results in a loss of power to the load, but it also leads to the suspension of the entire process, which can result in significant maintenance costs. Though there are existing offline and online diagnosis methods to diagnose fault of belts, they have shortcomings in fault diagnosis. This paper presented diagnostic methods through vibration analysis and demonstrated diagnostic methods compared to the existing methods through experiments. The experimental results of the proposed method show that the system's reliability and efficiency can be improved by automatically and remotely and safely detecting defects in the belt based on the vibration measurement attached to the device.
