Rule-Based Description and Plausible Classification of Objects in Digitized Astronomical Images

A general approach to image interpretation founded on rule-based description and its plausible evaluation is tailored to astronomical image case by the study of the image model adopted by the astrophysicist and of his procedure of visual inspection of astronomical plates.
