PRISON CONTRABAND SYSTEMS: IMPLICATIONS FOR PRISON MANAGEMENT

Abstract This paper addresses the issue of contraband control and its relationship to prison control. It is contended that the contraband market structure provides stability to the prison setting. Methods are examined in relation to the flow of contraband, the effects of altering the subrosa sector, and dangers of contraband and the free market system in prison. Finally, suggestions for prison management are provided.
