RESULTS OBTAINED BY MINIMIZING NATURAL FREQUENCY AND MODE SHAPE ERRORS OF A BEAM MODEL

The classical inverse sensitivity approach was applied. In the presented application, the deviations between analytical and measured natural frequencies and mode shapes were minimised to update user selected stiffness, mass and geometric parameters. The selection of the updating parameters was based on a sensitivity analysis. The capability of the updated model to predict modal data of a modified structure is demonstrated in order to check if the physical meaning of the updated parameters has not been altered during the updating process.
