PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio base station which can realize power-saving by maintaining a sleep period even when the number of transmission data frames from a terminal station is increased due to an increase of network traffic.SOLUTION: A communication method for a radio base station performing radio communication with a terminal station, includes: a communication control step for notifying the terminal station of a transmission permitted period during which the terminal station is permitted to transmit data to the radio base station; a sleep control management step for shifting the radio base station to a sleep state after receiving data transmitted from the terminal station during the transmission permitted period; and a power management step for controlling power supply to a predetermined function of the radio base station when the radio base station is shifted to the sleep state.
