The Rule Based Self-Organizing Control of Urban Traffic Signals

Aiming at the control system of urban traffic signals with complexity characteristics,based on the analogy between traffic flow and general flow,the traffic network was abstracted as a pipe network system.The flow in traffic network was described by hydrodynamic theory.Based on the information share between adjacent intersections,through the mathematical reconfiguration of N-S equation of flow,the phase based self-organizing control rules of intersections was built to implement the flow equilibrium in urban traffic network.The results show that the control performance of traffic system is improved by the above approach.
