Optimal coupling condition of IPT system for achieving maximum power transfer

It is a common misconception that tighter coupling leads to higher power transfer in designing an IPT (inductive power transfer) system. It has been found that there is an optimal coupling condition that corresponds to the maximum power transfer for a series-tuned IPT system. Both theoretical and experimental studies have proven this finding, and the results obtained are very important for future IPT system analysis and design.
