Residual effect of calcium and magnesium silicate application on soil chemical attributes and soca cana productivity.

Research papers in Brazil and other countries, with the use of calcium and magnesium silicate, has shown promising results in the culture of sugarcane. The objective of this study was to evaluate the residual effect of the application of calcium and magnesium silicate material as corrective of soil acidity in soil chemical properties and the production of stems of the first ratoon of sugarcane. The study was conducted in field conditions at the Farm School Anhanguera Dourados-MS, with the variety SP803250. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications. The treatments consisted of different doses of calcium silicate (0, 700, 1.400, 2.800, 5.600 kg ha). On soil, the sampling was performed 24 months after the application of silicate, in layers of 0-0,2 and 0,20-0,40 m deep, determining the chemical properties for the purpose of soil fertility and productivity of sugarcane ratoon. Calcium and magnesium silicate promoted beneficial effect on residual acidity of the soil attributes after 24 months of application. The application of calcium and magnesium silicate, in pre-planting caused a positive residual effect on the productivity of ratoon of sugarcane.
