The End of the Odyssey

T REPORT of the scholiasts at Odyssey 23.296 has made for lively comment since at least the twelfth century. For it is here, we are told, that the best Alexandrian critics of Homer, Aristophanes and Aristarchus, considered the Odyssey to end.
