Redundancy Design of a New Electrically Powered Actuator for Aerospace Application

Electro-Mechanical-Hydrostatic Actuator (EMHA) is a new type of electrically powered actuator that acts on thrust vector control system (TVC). The reliability of the redundancy system was researched, and the fault tree method was used to analyze the fault of the EMHA system, and task reliability was also calculated; then, the redundancy design of the EMHA system was carried out from the point of the overall redundancy, and the switch valve block that is the key role in the EMHA system was analyzed in detail. Finally, the redundancy design of the EMHA system was carried out from the point of the component redundancy. The ideas and suggestions of EMHA system redundancy scheme was given based on the above procedures.
