The invention discloses a video distributed coding format converting method which mainly comprises the following steps: slicing the original video, slicing a complete, big and long-duration video into several small videos, and converting the video code of the small videos to ensure that every piece of the video is an independent video sub-block, the smaller the video blocking is, the less elapsed time the code converting needs, thus the real-time property can be ensured; because the consumption on the computer resource is very high in code conversion, for reducing the characteristic of high consumption of the computer resource, the sliced video is sent to the resource idle code converting server to convert the code, therefore, not only is the code converting efficiency improved, but also the load of a single computer is reduced.
