The Semantics and Pragmatics of Topic Phrases

Les As. examinent les syntagmes exprimant un topic au debut des phrases en japonais. En se situant dans un cadre theorique non representationnel issu de la theorie des ensembles, ils analysent en detail la notion de aboutness (caractere de ce qui porte sur un sujet) qu'ils considerent comme une relation entre les referents du discours et les propositions. Les propositions representent des sous-parties du terrain commun et, en tant que telles, peuvent etre modelisees comme des ensembles de mondes possibles. Cette theorie permet une conception plus large de la pragmatique dans laquelle elle etablit des relations parmi les objets semantiques sur la base de principes informationnels ou conversationnels
