Mmamabula : scaled down but still going : commodities

Tore Horvei, COO of CIC Energy recently told the Botswana Resource Conference in Gaborone that Mmamabula was "very much alive". CIC was still talking to a number of institutions - including the World Bank Group - about their possible participation in the redesigned multi-phase project. The company is also hard at work on planning a coal-to-hydrocarbons project and an export project - both to commence commercial operations by 2014. A pre-feasibility study to export coal via new port facilities in Walvis Bay and / for Luderitz in Namibia will be completed in Q3 2008. An approximately 1 500 km trans-Kalahari railway line would have to be constructed by a transportation consortium, which could include CIC Energy who would be the anchor client for the new line.
