On the capacity-achieving distribution of the discrete-time non-coherent additive white Gaussian noise channel

The capacity achieving distribution of the discrete-time non-coherent additive white Gaussian noise channel under the average power constraint is shown to have a discrete character. Using this discrete characterization, the capacity of the channel is computed numerically and some lower and an upper bounds to the capacity curve are obtained.
