Presented is a new analytical model for the throughput of the IEEE802.15.4 slotted CSMA=CA which can be studied as slotted non-persistent CSMA. Key to the accuracy of the model is a careful studyof the timeout period, which has not been considered by all previous802.15.4 models. The analytic results are validated via the presentauthors’ OPNET simulation model.
