Multilevel graphical modeling for system of systems: Bondgraph model for a wireless communication link with redundancy

Graphical modeling for System of Systems (SoS) permits defining supervision strategies for fault detection and reconfiguration of component systems to achieve a common task. Hypergraphs are being used to model the structural organization of an SoS at macroscopic level without being able to relate the whole system organization to element failure within a component systems at microscopic level. In our paper, we step towards multilevel modeling of SoS by means of integrating bondgraphs and hypergraphs. We suggest a Bondgraph model for a wireless communication link (WCL) between two component systems of an SoS. Furthermore, we examine the benefits of defining redundant wireless communication links between component systems for possible reconfigurations whenever a direct WCL fails.
