Materno-Fetal Concentration of Tryptophan and Fetal Behavioural States in Normal and PIH Pregnancies. Preliminary Results

Behavioural states have been evaluated 2–4 hours before elective cesarean section in Control and PIH patients with growth retarded fetuses. Tryptophan determination by means of HPLC has been conducted on maternal and cord blood.The Feto/Maternal Trp ratio results were significatively reduced in PIH group and seems to be related with behavioural abnormalities.
