Vaspin – new adipose tissue hormone

Waspina (VASP) to serpina należąca do rodziny inhibitorów proteazy serynowej, kodowana przez gen OL-64 z locus na chromosomie 14 (14q32.1). Została po raz pierwszy wyizolowana z tkanki tłuszczowej trzewnej (VAT) u otyłych szczurów OLETF, zwierzęcego modelu otyłości brzusznej przebiegającej z cukrzycą typu 2. Wykrywalność ekspresji mRNA tej adipokiny w VAT wzrasta u osób otyłych wraz ze wzrostem masy ciała. Jednak wyniki badań dotyczących stężeń VASP we krwi u osób otyłych i szczupłych, zwłaszcza u dzieci, są rozbieżne. U otyłych gryzoni VASP może zwiększać wrażliwość na insulinę, ale molekularne mechanizmy i miejsca działania są nieznane. W pracy omówiono budowę i ekspresję waspiny oraz dokonano krótkiego przeglądu piśmiennictwa na temat związku tej adipokiny ze stanami otyłości. Endokrynol. Ped. 11/2012;3(40):59-66.
