Research on applications of soft computing in metal forming

First of all,the conception,connotation and extension of soft computing were introduced in this paper.The characteristics of fuzzy theory,artificial neural networks and genetic algorithm were discussed,and the integrations of soft computing techniques were analyzed.Our researches on soft computing in metal forming,including genetic optimizing ANN in cold extrusion process design,fuzzy ANN for determining whether or not cold extrusion part can be formed in one blow,and ANN for knowledge acquisition in expert system,were also addressed.Then,up to date applications of soft computing in the area of metal forming were dissertated.In the end,expectations for farther researches and applications of soft computing were brought forward.
