Recently, the tooling system that is essential to high speed machining-centers is changing from a BT tooling system to a HSK tooling system, because the bending stiffness and the machining accuracy of a HSK tooling system are higher than those of a BT tooling system. So we are developing a new HSK tooling system for high speed machining-centers presently. In this system, a gripper is a core part that clamps a tool-shank on a spindle shaft. In this paper, we selected the most stable shape in three models of the gripper. In order that, we modeled three different models of the gripper by using a 3D modeling/design program. Then we analyzed Stress Distribution Characteristics by using the Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
