An Online Measuring System for Mechanism Analysis of Cutting Vibration

Self-excited vibration generated in the metal cutting process has a bad effect on the machining quality and surface roughness,and sometimes even obstructing the processing.In order to do research on the mechanism of the cutting chatter,we develop a set of online measuring system based on Delphi.Through acquiring data relevant to the flutter in cutting process,the paper analyzes the frequency and power spectrum of the flutter by fast Fourier transform(FFT).At the same time,combining with the Lissajous figures,the paper studies the resonance frequency and the main influential factors of the vibration,for the sake of searching for the methods of vibration elimination.
