Method for lane active change

PURPOSE: A method for active lane change is provided to control a motor driving power steering(MDPS) according to collision risk when an operator tries to change lanes. CONSTITUTION: A method for active lane change comprises the following steps: recognizing presence of vehicles in front and back by using a camera(100) installed in front of vehicle and a radar(200) installed in the back of the vehicle; calculating relative velocity and distance from the vehicles in front and back; calculating predicted collision time using the calculated relative velocity and distance; If the predicted collision time; calculating collision risk by changing lane once a winker is on; controlling MDPS(400) according to risk of lane change. If the predicted collision time with vehicles driving in a target changing lane is later than a reference time, the risk for changing lane is determined to be low.
