MOTIONS OF FLOATING BODIES IN WAVES, MOORED BY ELASTIC LINES IN A SEA WITH A BREAKWATER

In this paper, using the method of velocity potential continuation, a method for calculating motions of floating bodies in waves, moored by elastic lines in a sea with a breakwater is shown. In this method, a number of small size matrices are calculated instead of a large matrix. This method is especially efficient in conducting calculations with a small capacity computer. Experiments for two floating bodies are also carried out. From the comparison between the experiment and calculation, measured values for amplitudes of the floating body motions and mooring forces are in good agreement with the calculated results.
