Research on a Planar WIFI Directional Antenna

A small-size gain antenna model with planar structure is built and studied for WIFI communication. The directional radiation and impedance matching characteristics of antenna with the change of the plane size and the distance between the plates are analyzed in detail by means of HFSS simulation technology. The operating frequency of antenna is about 2. 4 GHz and the return loss at resonance point is less than-25 d B. The front to back ratio of radiated power is around 5d B,with a relatively strong directional radiation.The experimental model of antenna is constructed and measured. It is shown that the experimental results are consistent with the simulation. Since the antenna has such advantages as simple structure,easy adjustment and low cost,the antenna has a good engineering application.
