A Perceptual Color Edge Detection Algorithm

This paper proposes a novel perceptual model for edge detection for color image. First, edge-preserving Gaussian filter (EPGF) is presented to smooth the interior area and maintain the real edges. Then this paper combined CIE CAM02 and iCAM to predict the color appearance, which can make the color image more consistent with human eyes. Finally new color gradient enhancement and edge detection is implemented. The proposed method can detect the edge successfully, with less false edges.
