Advances in Liquid Crystal on Silicon Wavelength Selective Switching

Liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) is employed as the active switching element for wavelength routing and attenuation in a wavelength selective switch. Additional functionalities such as power sharing, monitoring and channel contouring are able to be demonstrated simply and cost effectively.
