A general real-time vehicle simulation approach that can be applied effectively to development and validation of vehicle active control systems in hardware-in-the-loop simulation is proposed. The multibody vehicle dynamics method based on relative generalized coordinates is employed to develop vehicle models that represent physical vehicle systems faithfully. Based on a parallel processing approach utilizing parallelism by independent kinematic chains and parallel integration. a symbolic processing approch is developed to generate parallel processing codes on . a shared-memory multiprocessor automatically.
