Exergoeconomic analysis and evaluation of energy-conversion plants—II. Analysis of a coal-fired steam power plant

A coal-fired steam power plant, which will be located in Southern Nevada, has been analysed with the aid of the method presented in Part I. The exergoeconomic analysis suggests that decreasing the exergy losses for the components steam boiler/reheater, feedwater preheaters, and low-pressure turbine may lead to a reduction in electricity cost although the capital costs will increase.
