Dependence of Q2 on inter-core skew and mode-dependent loss in long-haul coupled-core multicore fibre transmission

We experimentally evaluate the dependence of the Q2 on inter-core skew and mode-dependent loss in long-haul coupled-core four-core fibre transmission. A skew within less than 200 ps per span is required for 6,020-km transmission. Large Q2 degradation and fluctuation and are observed due to MDL.
