INTELLIGENT ENGLISH-CHINESE MACHINE TRANSLATION SYSTEM (IMT/EC)

The intelligent English-Chinese machine translation system (IMT/EC) integrates some outstanding features of the case grammar and semantic grammar into a uniform frame, and using various knowledge in the disambiguation, tries to modify the object language by itself. In this paper, IMT/EC's design motivations and overall architecture are introduced, then the design philosophy of its translation mechanisms and their processing algorithms are described.
