Mathematical model for optimum fibre optic probe design and characterisation

Abstract A mathematical model for the optimisation and characterisation of a fibre optic probe is described. The application of the optimisation model to an in situ fibre optic laser fluorometer for the detection of water pollutants is presented. The computational results are verified through experiments.
