Zeroes of complete elliptic integrals for 1:2 resonance

Abstract We give an estimate for the number of zeroes of the elliptic integral I ω ( h ) = ∫ ω , ω = A ( x , y ) dx + B ( x , y ) dy , along the ovals H ( x , y ) = h , H ( x , y ) = y 2 − 2 x 2 + x 4 , in terms of the degrees of the symmetric polynomials A and B .
