Blumlein configuration for variable length high-voltage pulse generation by simultaneous switch control

A simple method to generate variable duration high-voltage square pulses, based on a modified Blumlein configuration, is presented. The main advantage of the proposed approach is the possibility to produce pulses of variable length without changing any physical parameters of the device. That is ideal for experimental investigations, where flexibility in instrumentation is needed, especially in biological research such as electroporation study and intracellular electromanipulation. The method is numerically tested by means of a simple SPICE simulation.
