Aligning Team Measurement Practice with Theory Through Novel Analytic Applications

The measurement of team constructs presents unique challenges for researchers and practitioners. However, little research has capitalized on advanced analytic strategies to align measurement practices with theory. Here we present studies that capitalize on such frameworks to address basic concerns in team construct measurement. The first study shows measurement invariance analyses are consistent with theory on construct emergence. Another presentation shows the design of a measure of team personality that takes configuration into account using multilevel analyses. Finally, a study is presented that utilizes social network analysis to more accurately reflect theory on team interaction patterns in measuring team constructs.IRT-Based Evidence of Team Construct Measurement Quality and EmergencePresenter: Nathan T.
