Optimal Design of Photovoltaic Arrays Under Partial Shading

As complexing of structure and potential application areas of photovoltaic(PV) generation systems(for example PV roof systems,PV curtain wall systems),especially considering partial shading phenomenon,there are great impacts on the output characteristics of PV arrays.Influences of shading distribution were investigated by theoretical analysis,computer test and experiment,et al.A simplified calculation method for the solution of maximum power point(MPP) of a PV array under partial shading was proposed.Furthermore,the basic principle of the optimization of PV array configuration was summarized as well,and at the same time,a general method for the optimal design of PV arrays with consideration of local peaks and system voltage limits was presented.The proposed design method and corresponding experimental results provide strong support for the engineering design of PV systems.
