Multi-agent based technology for adaptive data integration of process oriented manufacturing execution systems

Considering inherent complexities and difficulties to build efficient manufacturing execution systems (MES) for process industry plants, we promote an adaptive framework so called intelligent data-bus (IDB) as a sample technical practice to generate comprehensive and centralized services for dynamic data requirement. The adaptive framework is also used to generate an open infrastructure with incremental installation capabilities both for legacy systems and new applications. By distinguishing, defining and establishing centralized and intelligent data service other than tight and rigid methods adopted by former applications in MES construction, the framework can enhance integrability, extensibility, and reliability, which are advocated by TIMA. We also expect that architecture similar to IDB would become the standard component for future integrable MES constructions.
