Management of the indoor environment

In this chapter we will consider the indoor environment as including the quality of the air within the building, lighting levels and noise levels in relation to the comfort, wellbeing and health of the occupants of the building. These occupants include employees, guests and any other groups of people, such as outside contractors, who may be exposed to the environment. While some of this subject matter relates to occupational health, this is a much broader term covering many factors other than the environment, and is beyond the scope of this book.
