In the sixties the idea of inexpensive personal computers was a science fiction and people laughed at Seymour Papert when he envisioned a future where children would use computers for learning and creative expression. But Papert was serious and was conducting serious research in his laboratory as a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This research produced many firsts. Today Papert is considered the one of the world's foremost experts on how technology can provide new ways to learn and has carried out educational projects on every continent.
