A Comparison of Two Approaches to the Simulation of Manufacturing Systems

Simulation is increasingly being used in analysing and predicting the performance of manufacturing systems. The three main approaches used in simulation languages are those of being event, activity or process based. The diversity of simulation languages available and their different approaches to modelling systems creates uncertainty in the mind of potential users on the approach and language to choose.
