Low Power Design of USB Microwave Power Sensor

This paper analyzes the low power design features of USB-based measurement instrument. The theoretical analysis of power dissipation was first introduced. Then the normal issues of power limitation for a USB device were fully proposed. After the basic principles of low power design were discussed in great detail, the actual solutions for low power design of USB sensor were fully put forward. The emphasis of low power design and implementation was put on component selection, circuit arrangement, chip configuration and software design. All these attempts make it is possible that the USB microwave power sensor only has a power consumption of 1.8W, which is lower than the normal USB power supply capacity of 2.5W.
