Frequency sharing coded cooperation (FSCC) with single transceiver in half-duplex systems

Coded cooperation is one of the cooperation mechanisms that improves throughput or outage performance by achieving both cooperative diversity and coding gain. We assume that an orthogonal frequency channel is allocated to each cooperative user, such as multichannel systems, and each user transmits packets to its partner and destination by using a single transceiver. In this paper, we propose and analyze the frequency sharing coded cooperation (FSCC) in terms of effective capacity as throughput. In order to achieve the higher effective capacity as well as cooperative diversity, the cooperative user using the proposed scheme lends the frequency channel from its partner. The numerical results show that the proposed scheme can increase the effective capacity in the case of various conditions and both the optimal cooperative portion and the allocated power to bits can be obtained.
