This paper presents an application of the peridynamic method to predict a viscoelastic behavior. The peridynamic theory is a nonlocal continuum theory that shows an inherent crack initiation and crack growth criterion when it is applied on elastic material. This method is developed in order to resolve the problem of conventional finite element method (FEM) which is unable to predict singularities such as crack and failure. In this work, peridynamic is specifically applied to viscoelastic material in order to enhance the method. It is shown in the result that peridynamic method is able to predict linear viscoelasticity with acceptable accuracy regarding to an experimental data.
