A Compact Ridge Waveguide Four-port Junction Circulator

This paper presents a compact ridge waveguide four-port junction circulator. It adopts a parallel configuration topology of two 3-port ridge waveguide junction circulators connected with a compact ridge waveguide to coaxial transition. The compactness of the circulator are realized by selection of ridge waveguide transmission line, utilization of parallel configuration topology structure and compact transition form. Low-power and high-power test results demonstrate that this circulator realizes a 17 dB isolation and 24 dB return loss bandwidth of 11.8% with an insertion loss of 0.2-0.4 dB. Its peak power capacity can reach 8 kW.
