Research and Experiment on A Compound Sliding Bearing

A new technology is proposed for increasing the lifting force for a conventional bearing, a radial movable baffle plate is placed in the stator on the diverging region of a loaded bearing, an adverse pressure Couette flow can be formed before the baffle plate and a new lifting force be established in this region. The experiment has been proved that the loading capacity is increased and the eccentric rate is decreased by using baffle plate. The taylor vortexes can be filted out by the baffle plate and the lubricating oil also can be exchanged automatically due to the pressure difference before and rear side of the baffle plate. So the temperature of the lubricating oil is more less than the conventional bearing at the same loading condition.
