Memory card and memory system having thereof

A memory card and a memory system including the same are provided to diversify capacity of the memory card by including a plurality of memory chips and obtain the same result as capacity increase of a single MMC(Multimedia Card) by setting the same card ID to a plurality of MMCs connected to a MMC bus. A first memory chip(220) provides response to all commands received from the outside. A second memory chip(240) provides the response to all commands related to data read, program, and erase operations among the commands received from the outside. Card checking information stored in the first memory chip stores a sum of first and second memory chips as capacity information. The second memory chip stores the same card checking information as the second memory chip. The first memory chip includes a first flash memory(224) and a first MMC controller(222) controlling the first flash memory. The first flash memory includes a memory cell array and a peripheral block controlling the operation for reading, programming, and erasing the memory cell array according to control of the first MMC controller.
