Demonstration of a Triple Bistable-Element Loop Circuit for a Digital Parallel All-Optical Computer

Three optically bistable ZnSe interference filters have been operated in a cascaded loop. This configuration, which with various modifications can form the basis of an all-optical digital parallel processor. has been used to show that, for the first time, indefinitely extensible logic is possible using an intrinsic bistable system.
