Research on Optimum Layout Algorithm for Blanking Pieces

The authors have developed a new algorithm for optimum layout of blanking pieces based on analysis. The key to the settlement of question lies in rapid determining the position relations, which satisfies the restraints on layout bet ween these contours.In order to do so, a series of characteristic points on a contour should be obtained by cutting the contour through horizontal equidist ant lines, then the position relations mentioned above can be determined, and so me layout parameters are solved.Finally,a optimum res ult of layout is obtained. Besides those usual layouts, such as single row layout, double row layout, pairwise row layout, the nesting for blanking pieces can b e obtained also by this algorithm.This algorithm is of good efficiency, high precision of calculation and the reliable result of layouts.
