Bodies formed by the stream surfaces of conical flows

In this paper it is shown that, with the aid of the stream surfaces of supersonic flows past cones at zero angle of attack, one can construct a quite broad class of bodies whose shape and aerodynamic characteristics are easily computed. The lines of intersection of the bow shocks are the body ribs. In constrast with bodies constructed with the aid of the stream surfaces behind plane shocks, the cross sections of the bodies considered vary along their length.
