Total Synthesis of the Antimalarial Sesquiterpene Peroxide Qinghaosu and Yingzhaosu A

Qinghaosu and Yingzhaosu are two peroxy - containing antimalarial constituents isolated from Chinese medicinal herbs. Qinghaosu has become a novel antimalarial drug and is interesting to synthetic organic chemists. This paper summarizes their total syntheses.
