Cycle modelling : An overview
暂无分享,去创建一个
Assignment modelling for motor vehicles uses speed and distance to calculate the likelihood that a motorist will take a particular route through a highway network. The evidence is that cyclists are also mainly concerned with the speed and length of their journey when choosing a route. Therefore it is considered that the basic modelling methods available to model motor traffic are valid for modelling cycling. However, as when providing infrastructure for cycling, it is necessary to consider the highway from the cyclist's point of view and the unique characteristics of cycling. Cycle modelling is in the early stages of development; further work is necessary, both to refine the techniques and to ensure that they are appropriate to the locality. However, interest in the technique is growing. The use of GIS has added an extra tool to the modeller's kit and enabled detailed investigations to be made. (A)
